Genesis 37:1-11 Joseph's Dreams

 Genesis 37:1-11 Joseph's Dreams

Read Genesis 37:1-11 here

Joseph was 17 and was watching the flock with his brothers. When he returned to Jacob he gave a bad report about his brothers. Israel (Jacob) loved Joseph the most of his sons and he made him a coat of many colors. His brothers hated Joseph because their father loved him more than any of the other brothers.

One day Joseph told his brothers about a dream that made them hate him even more. In the dream Joseph saw them binding sheaves of grain out in a field when all of the sudden Joseph sheaf rose and stood upright while theirs gathered around and bowed down around his sheaf. This made the brothers mad and asked him if he thought he was going to reign over them.

Joseph had another dream. This time he told of the dream when his dad was there. In this dream the sun and the moon and eleven stars bowed down to him. His father rebuked him.

Genesis 37:10-11

When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?” His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.
