Genesis 34:1-31 Dinah and the Shechemites
Dinah the daughter of Leah was raped by a Hivite named Shechem. Dinah brothers were very angry about what had happened. Hamor the father of Shechem said to Jacob my son has his heart set on your daughter. He wanted Jacob to give Dinah to his son to marry. Shechem said that he would pay any price for her to be his bride. The brothers told them that all of the males would have to be circumcised. If they did this they would take their daughter to be their wives. If they would not than they would take Dinah and leave.
Shechem and Hamor were ok with the agreement. They went back to the men of the city and told of the plan. So every male agreed and were circumcised. While they were still healing Levi and Simon came in and killed all the men. Then they looted the city. They took all their animals, possessions and family. Jacob was not happy with what Simon and Levi had done. He feared what others might do to them.
Genesis 34:31
But they replied, “Should he have treated our sister like a prostitute? ”
