Genesis 45:1-28 Joseph Makes Himself Known

Genesis 45:1-28 Joseph Makes Himself Known

Joseph asked everyone to leave the room.  Joseph told his brothers that he was Joseph.  He asked if his father was still alive.  No one answered because they were afraid.  Joseph told them not to be afraid because he was sent ahead to save lives including theirs.  He told them about the famine and how long it would be.  It was not them but God that sent him ahead.  Joseph sent them back to get there father and all their families.  They were to live near Joseph.

When Pharaoh heard about brothers he was pleased.  He told Joseph to tell his brothers that they are to get their father and get their families and Pharaoh would give them the best land in Egypt.  Pharaoh told them to not worry about there belongings because they would have the best of all of Egypt.

Joseph did as pharaoh told him to do.  He gave them carts and provisions for the journey.  Joseph gave each of them new clothing but to Benjamin he gave 300 shekels of silver and five sets of clothes.

Genesis 45:23

And this is what he sent to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and other provisions for his journey.

When they returned home they told Jacob that Joseph was still alive and Jacob did not believe them.  When he saw all of the Joseph had sent them he was convinced.
