 Exodus 7:14-24 The Plague of Blood

God told Moses to go out to see Pharaoh tomorrow by the Nile.  Moses was to take his staff that had become a snake and say to him:

Exodus 7:16

Then say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the desert. But until now you have not listened.

God told Moses to take his staff and hit the water.  This would make the water in the Nile into blood and would kill all that was in the water.  The water would stink.  Moses and Aaron did as they were told but the Egyptian magicians did the same things.  This only hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not let the people go.  

Exodus 7:22

But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.
