Genesis 1: Creation

I love the first chapter of Genesis and the story of creation.  I love to imagine the scene of our loving Father calmly speaking and the world began.  All he had to do was speak and everything began.  Everything was good when God created it and at the very end God declared it as very good.  The world was made for HIS pleasure but with us in mind. 

Day 1 Genesis 1:1-5

 

On the first day God created:

~ Day    ~ Night

 

In verse 4 God declares that the light was good.

Can you image if the world did not have light in it.  Close your eyes and see God and he said “Let there be light”  and there was light.  God is simply amazing. 

 

Genesis 1:5

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning–the first day.

 

Day 2 Genesis 1:6-8

~ Sky

 

Genesis 1:8

God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning–the second day.

 

Day 3 Genesis 1:9-13

-Land    -Seas    -Plants  -Trees

 

Vs 10 - And God saw that it was good

Vs 12 - And God saw that it was good

 

Genesis 1:13

And there was evening, and there was morning–the third day.

 

Day 4 Genesis 1:14-19

-Day      -Night    -Seasons           -Days             -Years   -Sun      -Moon   -Stars

 

Vs 18 - And God saw that it was good

 

Genesis 1:19

And there was evening, and there was morning–the fourth day.

 

Day 5 Genesis 1:20-23

~ Sea creatures ~ Sky creatures

 

Genesis 1:23

And there was evening, and there was morning–the fifth day.

 

Genesis 1:22

God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

 

Day 6 Genesis 1:24 - 31

~Land   ~ Creatures       ~Man

 

Vs 25 - And God saw that it was good

 

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

 

Genesis 1:27 

So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God he created him;

male and female he created them.

 

Everything was given to us to eat

seed-bearing

every tree that has fruit with seed in it

beasts of the earth 

birds of the air 

creatures that move on the ground

everything that has the breath of life in it

green plant

 

Genesis 1:31

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning–the sixth day.
